ENDURING POWERS OF ATTORNEY

Enduring powers of attorney have become extremely popular in recent years and our solicitors are available to guide you throughout the process should you decide to safeguard your future decision-making. An enduring power will allow you to appoint a family member or friend to make decisions on your behalf should you be unable to do so by way of mental infirmity at any point in the future, these would include both financial and personal care decisions.

An Enduring power of attorney is a two-step process whereby the first step involves the execution by the donor of the enduring power appointing their attorney/attorneys to act on their behalf should they lose mental capacity at some point in the future.  The second step is the registration of the enduring power which is a formal application to the wards of the court office and this can only occur once capacity has been lost by the donor.
